Job summary The Assistant Practitioner supports Bone Marrow Transplant patients undergoing preliminary work up investigations, BMT patients within the ambulatory care unit and patients within the BMT ambulatory aftercare service.
This requires utilisation of advanced communication skills, clinical skills and an excellent understanding of the transplant pathway.
They will work as part of the multidisciplinary team in the BMT co-ordination team, to providing a seamless service to patients referred to the service.
Remote supervision will be provided by the registered nurses (RN) within the BMT Co-ordination team.
This role will also provide administrative support to a team containing medical coordinators, nurse specialists and consultants treating patients with a wide range of conditions both malignant and non-malignant.
The purpose of the role is to ensure that complex treatment is planned and all necessary arrangements are in place for the treatment to take place.
