1.OptimisingResources: IT and informationThe Assistant Practice Manager will be responsible for ensuringthat the practices IT resources (hardware and software and data) areeffectively managed and maintained to protect the integrity of patient recordsand other records and ensure that resources are used to the best benefit ofpatient care.
This will include: Ensuringthat all team members are able to make the most effective use of the technologythey are required to work with.
Ensuringthat data and information are received at the correct time, in the correctformat, are processed accurately in an agreed format, are appropriatelyactioned, are stored securely and are transmitted in a way that ensuresconfidentiality.
Ensuringthe practices compliance with the Data Protection Act and Freedom ofInformation Act, other relevant legislation and professional informationmanagement standards such as GMC guidance.
Implementingand monitoring systems which ensure that patient confidentiality is protectedat all times by all staff, who are aware of their responsibilities.
Ensuringthe practice has systems and processes for effective data processing andmanagement.
Monitoring,evaluating and adjusting the ways in which technology is used in order tobenefit patients and the practice.
Planningfor future adoption of new applications of IT to develop and enhance servicedelivery.
Developand maintain the practice web site/intranet as well as external informationheld on sites such as Person Specification Experience Essential Experience of working in general practice in a similar role would be an advantage, or to have management experience and managed projects
