Our Finance Business Partners provide a critical role supporting turnover of £3 billion, from guidance and challenge on commercial decision making, preparing performance reports, budgets and ad hoc analysis, through to accurate and timely recognition of accounting transactions in line with any internal policies and accounting standards.
This Assistant Finance Business Partner role is aligned to the Advisory capability.
Advisory provides technology, risk, transaction and transformation advice and services to clients.
It is the largest of the UK capabilities with a turnover of £1.4 billion.
What will you be doing?
Develop and understanding of the business area supported, proactively learning the services it provides, client issues it seeks to address, sectors it operates in and key clients / client contracts.
Support local stakeholders in understanding business performance, KPI's and actions that can be taken to drive improved performance.
Produce analysis and other reporting to support local stakeholder decision making, per the organisation design, advocating the use of centralised MI and other self-service tools as appropriate.
Provide the business with both support and challenge with respect to commercial matters, such as fee structure and pricing for client projects.
Be the subject matter expert for engagement-related performance questions – including ad hoc training and education of engagement teams as needed.
Execute processes and review the output of these to ensure management and financial accounts accurately reflect the financial position of the business:Revenue recognition in line with accounting standards.Costs recognised accurately, on a timely basis and incurred in line with organisational policy.
Investigating and escalating as required anomalies, system or process issues.
Champion adherence to finance processes and policies, challenging deviation from these as appropriate and highlighting opportunities for improvements.
Deputise for the Finance Business Partner as needed.
Play an active role in the wider finance community, including knowledge sharing, participation in meetings and ad hoc projects.
Be an advocate for change programmes delivered by Finance / KPMG Business Services (KBS), including automation tools, self-service, standardisation, and any other changes in way of working.
What will you need to do it?
Qualified or part-qualified with a recognised accounting body or a relevant degree.Relevant finance experience, ideally within the professional services sector.Resilient and able to manage multiple stakeholders.Curiosity and a logical approach to problem solving.Excellent attention to detail.
