Over the past three years we have supported people through the Covid-19 pandemic, made significant improvements in Children's Services, Adult Services and Fire and Rescue Services, and have developed our corporate infrastructure, including our corporate plan (Our Council Plan 2021-2025), budget and frameworks for business planning and corporate performance.
We want to sustain this progress for the longer term and are looking for an experienced individual to join us as an Assistant Director of Transformation, to build on our achievements and take our transformation agenda and ambitions to the next stage.
The Opportunity Salary: Competitive Salary Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per weekLocation: Based at County Hall, Chichester with hybrid working opportunitiesCountywide travel may be requiredAs the Assistant Director of Transformation, you will be part of the Council's extended leadership team, reporting into the Director of Finance & Support Services.You will lead the council's transformation capability, with responsibility for managing the transformation resource and for providing professional leadership of this function across the council.Championing design-led approaches and practices, helping the widespread adoption of these across the council.
Ensuring that the council has effective capability in all areas of design and transformation, and that the governance and behaviours are in place to maximise the impact of the resources that the council deploys on these activities.Lead the development and application of the "single pipeline" approach to change and transformation support.
What are we looking for?
You will have a proven track record in delivering and leading change and improvement and a clear ability to do so in a large local authority area.
You will be an excellent strategic manager, with a strong background in leadership, performance management and partnership working.
You will enjoy working collaboratively, leading and embed a performance focussed culture to deliver high quality outcomes.
A proven track record of leading and influencing teams to transform services and achieve significant and sustainable improvements.
Extensive experience of operating successfully within a senior leadership team, shaping and influencing innovative and high-quality services in high performing teams.
You will possess the proven ability to strategically plan for the development of services, with an understanding of what good looks like.
You will need to be resilient and willing to work flexibly to support the Chief Executive and Executive Management Team.
