Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to join HEIW's Planning and Performance team as Assistant Director.
The postholder will work, as a senior leader, with the Finance, Planning & Performance team, and other colleagues, to develop and build a collaborative, flexible and expert team with a business partnering approach.
The successful candidate will bring excellent planning and performance management expertise, complemented with high-quality leadership skills.
The postholder will have the ability to communicate and build relationships across the organisation as we deliver our strategic plans through best planning and performance management practice.
Increasingly, we are looking to develop and use outcome measures to improve quality and value.
It is also a great opportunity to work at Assistant Director level in a national strategic organisation within NHS Wales.The role is a permanent position which is advertised as a full-time AFC Band 8c.

Main duties of the job The Assistant Director of Planning and Performance will focus on the following core areas: Strategic and operational planning, including development of HEIW's IMTP, the Education & Training Plan and other strategic workforce plans;Business planning, including the development of business cases;Leading a Programme Management function;Monitoring delivery of our Plan and business activities through our agreed Performance Framework and developing our Performance Dashboards;Developing and building the Planning and Performance team.

Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge Essential Masters level qualification within relevant field, or equivalent demonstrable experience Extensive specialist knowledge over a range of disciplines.
, NHS planning, performance management, programme management, business planning, clinical services, information systems, research & development, finance and HR services In depth knowledge of planning and performance within the health sector Evidence of relevant continuous professional development Desirable Postgraduate management, planning, performance, or project/programme management qualification Experience of benefits management Experience Essential Extensive experience of planning and/or performance management at a senior level Senior management experience Financial management experience Experience of producing high level reports, policies, plans, business cases and strategies Experience of managing, implementing and measuring change in a complex environment Desirable Previous experience of working in the NHS or public sector
