We want everyone to find themselves in the spaces and stories we share.The RoleWe are seeking an Assistant Curator (Archaeological Archives) to work on our extensive archaeological archives at the Tower of London.
This post will be responsible for reviewing c. 50 archaeological archives of various sizes from the 1950's onwards and bringing them up to modern professional archival standards.
You will be working in collaboration with both our collections and curatorial teams to make use of this historic archaeological data to develop new resources, support the long-term management of the Tower of London, inform the planning and design of upcoming projects, and generate public facing content.Who are we looking for?You will be passionate about archaeology and at home working with archaeological archives of all shapes and sizes.
You will be confident in your knowledge of archival best practice in the sector and ideally have professional experience working with historic archaeological archives.
You will be a confident communicator and eager to share your knowledge with other departments and the public, both in person and in writing.This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the most iconic buildings in the country and have a long-term positive impact on our archaeological archives.
