Job summary Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes?
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Assistant Psychologist!In this role, you'll be at the forefront of providing support and guidance to young individuals and their families.
From running engaging group sessions to offering individualised assistance, you'll help tackle challenges such as needle phobia, fear of hypos, diabetes burnout and low self-esteem.Collaboration is key!
You'll work closely with our diabetes team, co-facilitating Diabetes Youth clinics that involve psychoeducation groups and activities.
Additionally, you'll have the chance to contribute to ground-breaking research and project evaluations, our latest initiative addressed tech inequalities in diabetes management.You'll also provide invaluable support to individuals and families, addressing the impact of diabetes on their overall well-being and helping them navigate the intersection of mental health and diabetes care.If you're ready to be a part of a compassionate team, driving positive change in the lives of young people we want to hear from you.

Person Specification Education/Qualifications Essential Honours degree in Psychology Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Experience Essential Experience of direct client contact in a health care setting (this can be paid, voluntary or lived experience).
Experience of working in teams (paid, voluntary or lived experience) Knowledge and Skills Essential Awareness of some of the psychological issues facing people with physical illness, injury or disability, including young people and their families.
Computer literacy and experience of statistical packages, literature databases and presentation tools.
Ability to apply existing psychological knowledge, underpinned by theory, to a physical health context Personal Qualities Essential Ability to take initiative, work independently, reliably and consistently, with work agreed and managed at regular intervals.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment Confident, friendly and approachable Additional Requirements Essential A professional interest in a career in Clinical Psychology
