Assistant Accountant

Overview Working within a small team this role will be responsible for daily cash allocations, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, calculating site staff and insurance recharges, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, reconciling Opera fee proposals to fee databases, supporting in the production of timely and accurate financial data, including month end reports, budgets and forecasts and working with business line management to assist in their understanding of financial data.
Key Responsibilities Ensuring the timely and accurate recording of financial data Production of Monthly Management & Financial accounts Control of TB Reconciling balance sheet accounts Controlling fixed asset accounts Review of, & actioning of departmental controls Working with Sales & Purchase Ledger Credit Control Managing the department GL postings Reconciling Bank Accounts Providing administrative support to the team Liaising with Bank, Clients, property managers, building surveyors, or property accountants on various processes.
Processing Sales refunds Banking ad hoc duties as required Experience Required AAT qualified or studying is preferred Good working knowledge of accounting software packages Previous experience in completing month end reconciliations Good knowledge of Excel (incl Pivot tables and V look ups) & Outlook Strong communication skills High level of attention to detail Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team Understanding of double entry book-keeping Ability to lead and motivate a small team Why Workman Hybrid working to offer you a great work life balance, with a minimum of three days in the office.
