Assistant Accountant - Lochgilphead, Argyll & Bute Hybrid Working Available Salary: £30,000-£31,000 per annum 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday As Assistant Accountant you will work as part of a finance team which delivers a professional, finance business partnering service to the departments across the Argyll and Bute Contract.
You will undertake journal processing, dealing with enquiries from budget holders and assist with the year-end process.
You will be responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that anomalies are investigated and that will allocate invoices to appropriate projects.
You will regularly liaise with budget holders and support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Other key responsibilities: • Preparation of month end accounts including posting accruals and prepayment journals • Bank payment runs • Preparation of VAT and LFT returns • Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, business performance plan and 5 year business plan • Data provision for annual audit • Preparation of manual invoices as required • Raising and goods receipting of purchase orders, checking of purchase orders from other users, closing and maintenance of purchase orders • Provide back up to the weighbridge team for the raising of purchase orders on computerised system and follow through to goods receipting and dealing with invoice queries for purchases Requirements Essential criteria for this role: • AAT qualified (or equivalent) • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Previous experience working in an accountancy based role.
• Possess excellent time-management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels within the business • Meticulous attention to detail and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workload with tight deadlines • Possess an enthusiastic approach to delivering system and process improvement an d willingness to learn Renewi IT systems (training will be provided) • Ability to build and maintain strong, cohesive working relationships inside and outside the business • Full UK car driving license Benefits What do we offer you?
