ASC Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme .
This full-time role begins in January and will run until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance.

About the Role: This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development within a mainstream secondary school environment.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring these students feel included and supported in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities: Tailored Support : Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with ASC, adapting resources and teaching approaches to meet their individual needs.
Promoting Engagement : Encourage participation in classroom activities, helping students build confidence and develop positive relationships with their peers.
Behaviour Management : Support students in regulating their emotions and behaviours, implementing effective strategies to create a calm and productive learning environment.
Classroom Assistance : Collaborate with teachers to ensure students with ASC can access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.
Communication Support : Work with students to develop their communication skills, including non-verbal methods, as needed.
Progress Monitoring : Observe and document student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and parents.
Inclusive Learning : Promote an inclusive classroom environment where students with ASC feel valued and supported.
Building Relationships : Develop strong, trusting relationships with students, acting as a mentor and advocate for their well-being.
Training Implementation : Apply knowledge gained through autism-specific training or experience to support students effectively.
Ideal Candidate Profile: Relevant Experience : Previous experience working with individuals with ASC, either in an educational or care setting.
Patience and Empathy : A calm, understanding approach to working with students who may display challenging behaviours or require additional support.
Strong Communication Skills : Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members.
Adaptability : Capable of tailoring support strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
Team Player : Willing to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to enhance the educational experience of ASC students.
