The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for an Area General Manager to lead our Aggregatesbusiness in the Mendips.This is a pivotal role where youll shape the strategy, drive performance, and make a lasting impact across the region.
With full P&L responsibility, youll manage a team of 150, including 4 direct reports, across our key quarries in Torr, Callow, and Kempsford.
Torr Quarry, at the heart of the Mendips, is one of the UKs most significant sites, supplying high-quality aggregates to the South West and beyond.
Its critical role in the construction supply chain makes it a standout opportunity to drive real impact.
This is your chance to lead growth and operational excellence, build strong customer relationships and drive year-on-year improvements across one of our most vital regions.
Youll manage the Mendips region, delivering budgeted income/contribution through effective volume, price, and cost management.
With a keen understanding of market dynamics, youll oversee strategic account management, negotiate major contracts, and ensure the sales team promotes the full product range across Torr, Callow, and Kempsford.
Youll lead the operational team, embedding efficiency measures to ensure production excellence while keeping costs within budget.
Youll identify and champion opportunities for organic growth and acquisitions while developing business cases for capital investment, including new plants or equipment upgrades.
Your leadership skills will foster a high-performance culture, empowering teams to excel while maintaining a sharp focus on health, safety, and wellbeing.
Youll champion sustainability by aligning the regions activities with Aggregate Industries goals for reducing carbon emissions.
