Part II Architectural Assistant Job Description Overview: Work alongside with the Project/Senior Architect and/or Project Manager to assist on all architectural and technical stages in a high-end, bespoke design led practice.

The Architectural Assistant is to understand and contribute to the ambitions and values of the Company and will have the appropriate skills to drive them forward in a proactive manner.

The Architectural Assistant is to be involved in the development of concept designs by providing drawing support to the Design Team.

The Architectural Assistant is to play a key role in the production of Tender and Construction Drawing packages alongside the Project Architect and coordinate consultant information.

The Architectural Assistant is to support the Project/Senior Architect and/or Project Manager with contract administration, AI's and shop drawing reviews.

The Architectural Assistant is to support with the project running and quality control.

The Architectural Assistant is to support the Project/Senior Architect and/or Project Manager in obtaining statutory approvals such as license to alter and planning permissions.

Key Competencies: Ownership To be responsible for the production of architectural tender and construction drawings under the supervision of the Project/Senior Architect.

Reliability To have the strong work ethic and commitment required to deliver outstanding luxury interior design projects to the highest quality within a dynamic environment.
Responsible for meeting and delivering to deadlines set by the Project/Senior Architect.

Design To have a well-developed spatial criterion and be able to understand space in all dimensions.
To be able to actively contribute to architectural synthesis and spatial design in collaboration with senior members of the team.

Communication To have the ability to communicate designs and architectural information with the team, consultants and contractors in an efficient, accurate and professional manner.
Hand sketching skills will be considered a plus.

Quality Control To have a solid grasp of luxury design and the standards required to achieve high execution levels.
Strong self-reviewer with attention to detail.
To be able to produce good quality drawings for tender and construction packages that are accurate, reliable and well thought through.

Problem Solving To identify risk factors, detect problems proactively and approach them in a constructive way.

Contract Administration General understanding of the principles of construction contract administration procedures (RFI's, AI's, Valuations and Interim Payment Certificates).
A cost and programme conscious approach is essential.

Bespoke Design Strong technical detailing skills and experience in bespoke joinery and interior fittings.
Good knowledge of commonly used construction methods and .

Attitude To have a team driven and hands-on approach with the will to take initiative when required.

Software Skills To be fluent in ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up and Microsoft Office Suite.
Photoshop, In-design and Visualising Software skills are useful but not essential.

Code Good knowledge of Planning Policies, UK building regulations standards and H&S legislation.

Qualifications & Experience: - University degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology.

- A minimum of 2 years of experience in architecture/interior design practices in luxury residential sector in the UK.

- Part II or equivalent qualification is essential; however, this will be weighed along with the experience factor.

- Proven experience in bespoke joinery design is preferred.

- Experience in working with BIM
