Architect - Insurance/Underwriting

Underwriting Technical Lead / Business ArchitectPosition Type: Full time permanent position

Salary: Up to £110,000 plus bonus and benefits
Working Arrangement: Hybrid working (Birmingham twice a week)
A global insurance business is currently looking for an Underwriting Technical Lead to join them on a permanent basis. This role will require working in the Central Birmingham office twice a week. The role will be responsible for the technical strategy that will enable the overall underwriting business strategy.
Duties will include:Overseeing technical aspects of the underwriting process (submission, automation, AI) and ensuring it aligns with objectivesDesigning software architecture of underwriting domain and managing technology delivery of development teamsDefine technical architecture roadmaps and guide implementationSupport with development of underwriting strategyWork to enhance operational efficiencyIdentify workflows (pricing engines, policies, risk etc)Ensure the best is being achieved from internal and broker dataEngage with third-party suppliersTo be considered suitable you will need the following skills and experience:Strong understanding of the insurance sector and underwriting processesTechnical background with domain architecture experienceMethodologies and framework knowledgeSystem architecture, design patterns and software development methodologiesExperience of AI Automation, data handling and data submissionUnderstanding of broker integration and distribution processes
