Application Support Engineer - Edinburgh or Glasgow Hybrid - To 28.5K Hybrid - 2 days per week in either their Central Edinburgh or Central Glasgow offices Lorien's client, a fast-growing, global-reaching SAAS company with a great name in their domain, are currently looking to hire an Application Support Engineer based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow to join their expanding function.

Key Responsibilities: Take the reins across client database and application environment support - including performance monitoring and management, making sure everything is up to scratch and fit for purpose Tackle support requests from the Service Desk, prioritising or escalating tickets as needed, and resolving technical issues Liaising with a multidisciplinary function of DevOps, Infrastructure and other teams to keep things running smoothy Knowledge-share and work with less senior personnel to resolve issues Contributing to relevant projects, helping to foster best practice working, and working to agreed procedures to make sure everyone is on the same page and working to established processes Helping to improve the wider function and bringing new ideas to the table where it comes to business processes, methodologies, workflows, and so on What they're looking for you to bring to the table: Proven track record in the Application Support domain with dealings in customer-facing scenarios Good technical working knowledge of databases and hands-on T-SQL and SQL Server skills Ability to support users/customers remotely Grasp of relevant methodologies/processes/ways of working such as ITIL/Change Management/etc.
