Job Title: Applications Scientist – Imaging Technology Location: County Durham Position Overview: As an Applications Scientist, you'll be the technical bridge between our clients and our products, ensuring smooth integration and effective use of our technology across varied applications.
This role requires a combination of hands-on expertise in systems, strong customer-focused skills, and a drive to support innovation.
You'll play a vital role in delivering product training, optimising application setups, troubleshooting technical issues, and gathering customer feedback to drive product improvements.
Key Responsibilities Conduct hands-on training sessions, demonstrations, and seminars to ensure clients understand system capabilities, maintenance protocols, and best practices.
Collaborate with customers to develop and refine imaging protocols tailored to specific research, medical, or industrial applications.
Provide expert-level support in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to equipment, working closely with the engineering and support teams to deliver timely solutions.
Gather and relay customer feedback to internal teams, contributing to ongoing product development and improvement of systems.
Technical Documentation and Reporting: Create and update technical documentation, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and application notes to support both customers and internal teams.
Travel to client sites as needed to provide on-site setup assistance, optimise configurations, and conduct regular maintenance checks.
Monitor advancements in imaging and applications, attending industry conferences and training as necessary to ensure our solutions remain on the cutting edge.
Qualifications Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline with a focus on imaging technologies.
3+ years of experience in an applications or field scientist role, ideally involving imaging systems.
Strong hands-on experience with systems, including knowledge of system setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Proven ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to a range of audiences, with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple client projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of service and technical quality.
Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, such as protocols, training materials, and support guides.
