I am representing a cutting-edge technology client, a leader in the design and development of antennas for IoT and wireless applications, who is looking to expand their UK-based engineering team with a Junior Antenna Engineer .
This is an exciting opportunity to join a company recognized for its innovation in antenna solutions, focusing on new product development, custom antenna projects, and assisting customers with the integration of advanced internal and external antennas (across LTE, 5G, WiFi, BLE, and GNSS bands).
Key Responsibilities: New Product Development: As a Junior Antenna Engineer , you will design and develop internal and external antennas using CAD tools, covering various mounting configurations such as screw, adhesive, and magnetic mounts.
Custom Solutions: Create bespoke antenna designs to fulfill unique customer requirements.
Customer Integration Support: Assist clients in integrating antennas into their devices by providing design reviews, layout optimization, and technical advice.
Additional Responsibilities: Assist the sales team with technical queries and problem-solving.
Maintain test equipment and contribute to new product development planning.
Prepare detailed test reports and represent the company at industry workshops.
Requirements: Technical Expertise: Experience with IoT antenna design and simulation (using CST Studio Suite), PCB design with Altium, and 3D mechanical design using Solidworks.
Testing & Measurement Skills: As a Junior Antenna Engineer , proficiency with Vector Network Analysers (VNA), Over-the-Air (OTA) measurements, and other related testing techniques is essential.
Prototyping and Practical Skills: Soldering skills, 3D CAD modeling, and working with various prototype materials (e.g., FR-4, copper foil).
Communication Skills: Ability to provide clear design guidance and communicate effectively with clients.
Desirable Experience: Experience in antenna matching networks, optimization, and prototype development.
Benefits: Competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum.
