Focused on supporting and influencing the group wide performance agenda, FQM's Group FP&A function is focused on delivering financial analysis, performance monitoring, reporting and planning for both the company's board and external markets.
Reporting to the FP&A manager within the Group Finance team in London, this position plays a key part in supporting group forecasting, budgeting, modelling/scenario planning & financial (cost & capex) analysis, with the aim of providing insight into commercial performance and supporting strategic business initiatives.Job & Candidate Requirements Key Responsibilities:The FP&A Analyst's general accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the below:Analysis of group forecasts, budget and plans with appropriate sensitivity analysis, operational and group review.Prepare budget and forecast presentations to Executive management, delivering robust, accurate probing to question performance.Prepare and review of monthly, quarterly and year-end management accounts, performance reporting and analysis for Executive managementReview and liaison with assigned operations on forecasts, budgets and actual financial and operational resultsOrganise quarterly forecast and plan presentation meetings with operations and senior managementPerform ad hoc analysis, project work or research as required, for example as support for quarter end results to market or as part of change management, continual improvement or system development projectsCost and capex review and analysis including trends and variances and follow-up of issuesPrepare analyst slides for quarterly external market presentationsRecommend strategies to improve data quality/ reporting and suggest opportunities to automate or scale processes through improvements in our technology capabilities, methodologies etc.Qualifications:An undergraduate or Bachelor's degree in finance, mathematics or other relevant area of studyQualified accountant (CIMA, ACA or equivalent)A post graduate/ Master's degree desirableExperience & Technical Skills Required:Keen interest in and passion for the mining and/or natural resources industryBasic understanding of commercial/operational issues and performance within an operational contextExceptional financial, quantitative & reporting capabilities.
Operational experience on a mining site an asset.An ability to understand complex issues & risks and be interested, or have experience, in data visualization.High proficiency in financial software/ systems (Excel, PowerBi & HFM- Hyperion), analytics and modelling.Experienced with business- partnering & project management.Behavioural Traits:Focused, detail orientated and driven.
