Fixed-term or Permanent; full-time or part-time Up to 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE) Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital is searching for consultant anaesthetists to join our cohesive, friendly and supportive team. The successful candidates would join a team of around 30 anaesthetic SMOs and 11 anaesthesia trainees to enhance the Anaesthetic Department according to their training and experience, and would also participate in the out-of-hours service. We have a collegial work environment with a range of surgical and medical specialties serving a diverse patient population. We are committed to ongoing education and improvement of our service and actively support junior staff and interdisciplinary team education. The Department is approved by ANZCA for 2 years of vocational training in anaesthesia.
Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital is situated in Hastings on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is a large, secondary level, 400-bed accredited public facility providing acute and elective care for a region of over 176,000 people. The work of the Department is varied and often challenging.
The successful applicants will possess either FANZCA or an equivalent qualification that would lead to specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and have an ongoing commitment to providing a top-quality service to our community.
