Anaesthetic Lead Practitioner One Ashford Hospital has a fantastic opportunity for a Anaesthetic Lead Practitioner to join our friendly and dynamic theatre team.
We are looking for an experienced, self-driven and motivated Anaesthetic Lead Practitioner to provide clear direction for the anaesthetic & recovery teams, supporting them to achieve their own personal goals and development.
The position also includes responsibility to lead in Hospital Resuscitation Standards of practice in line with the Resuscitation Council UK, including governance, audits, training and chairing the Resuscitation Committee with the support of the Director of Clinical Services.
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday with some Saturday shifts as required.
Please note: This job will start from 2nd January 2025.
Qualifications ODP / RN with relevant qualifications.
HCPC / NMC registration Advanced Life Support Qualification.
Experience A minimum of 18 months experience at AfC band 6/7 or equivalent leadership role.
Experience at managing a team.
Skills Sound written, numerical and verbal communication skills.
Planning skills including risk management, audit, appraisals, PSIRF, delivering presentations.
Able to make judgements involving complex facts or situations Sound computer skills using MS Office Suite with good Word and Excel Skills Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business Experience of customer care including interacting in challenging situations Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required Desirables Capabilities in 12 lead ECG, cannulation, cell salvage, catheterisation, scrub/surgical assistance Experience of working within a Finance Environment Experience of private healthcare Anaesthetic Lead Practitioner Main Responsibilities: Provide leadership and development by ensuring the use of evidence based practise and clinical standards.
Provide a safe working environment for patients and team members.
Ensure that pathways are delivered to the standard and quality expected of the hospital.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement which focuses on the provision of high quality safe and effective care.
Maintain CQC standards.
Satisfactory audit and clinical practise and documentation.
Completion of own and team members competencies assessment.
Fulfil appraisal and performance review objectives.
Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered/maintained and used.
efficiently by liaising with the supplies team.
Opportunity to deputise in absence of Theatre Manager.
Participate in providing team rota if required.
Assist new members of staff to effectively perform their role.
Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders and report outcomes or needs to the relevant manager or team leader.
Attend departmental meetings and read relevant communications while contributing to improving standards of services in line with the needs of the business.
