Job Title: Agency Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) - Flexible Working Option Location: Powys, Wales Salary: £45ph Job Type: Temporary/Contract, Flexible Working Available About the Role: Randstad are looking for an experienced and qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join the Mental Health Services in Powys on an agency basis.
This role offers a unique opportunity for flexibility, with options for remote working, flexible hours, and an adaptable work-life balance to suit your individual needs.
As an AMHP, you will be responsible for carrying out Mental Health Act assessments, supporting individuals experiencing mental health crises, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the safety and well-being of service users.
Key Responsibilities: Mental Health Act Assessments: Undertake statutory Mental Health Act (1983) assessments, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions for individuals in crisis.
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with health professionals, police, and other relevant agencies to coordinate assessments, care, and treatment plans for service users.
Crisis Management: Respond promptly to mental health emergencies, ensuring appropriate legal and professional interventions to safeguard the rights and well-being of individuals.
Decision-Making: Make informed decisions in complex and high-pressure situations, balancing the need for care and protection with the rights of individuals.
Safeguarding: Recognize and act on safeguarding concerns, ensuring that all actions comply with relevant legislation and policies.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assessments, decisions, and actions taken, ensuring that all paperwork is completed in line with statutory requirements.
About You: Qualifications: AMHP qualification and Social Work degree (or equivalent).
Current registration with Social Work England or Social Care Wales.
Experience: Demonstrable experience working as an AMHP, with a solid understanding of the Mental Health Act (1983), the Code of Practice, and relevant legislation.
