Teaching Assistant – ALN support Base Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of young learners? An ALN base in a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Caerphilly is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team. The base is small consisting of a handful of classrooms and a sensory room for students to relax in, with only a few members of staff here they're excited to bring in a new member with new ideas to their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students in a vibrant and nurturing educational environment.
Location: Caerphilly Hours: Full-time (Term time only) Salary: £85 - £90 per day Start Date: January 2025 – End of the academic year – interviews at schools held before Christmas This will involve supporting children with Autism, ADHD, and addressing behavioural difficulties, social, emotional, and mental health challenges, as well as providing 1-to-1 support for pupils who need assistance in these areas.
Key responsibilities: - Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons to small groups, adapting resources as needed.
- Work with students 1:1 basis and in small groups, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Provide a welcoming and supportive space where students feel respected and encouraged to do their best.
- Provide tailored support to students with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Role requirements: - Enhanced DBS (child only) and be registered with the Education Workforce council. We can help with this - Minimum of 5 GCSE A* - C - Strong with behaviour (experience desired by not essential) - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to establish rapport with both students and staff members you'll be collaborating with.
