An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Alarm Receiving Centre Manager to join our Field Operations Team.

The Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) Manager will be an individual contributor responsible for overseeing the operation of the ARC which monitors alarm and CCTV activity and coordinating operational response in accordance with Northern Powergrid policy and relevant legislation.
The post holder will also ensure operation in line with best practice and security industry standards i.e.
NSI gold.
The ARC is a relatively new facility, and the ARC Manager will have a key role in developing working practices and defining a plan for the ARC's future development.
Key Responsibilities: • Overseeing the operation of the ARC, ensuring it is resourced to enable consistent service delivery excellence to internal and external customers, ensuring all alarm activations are appropriately monitored in line with standard operating procedures.
• To be the Northern Powergrid contract manager for the security services contract covering the provision of ARC operators.
• Establishing clear, measurable key performance indicators and objectives consistent with Northern Powergrid's security strategy.
• Identify and build value added service capabilities designed to improve customer confidence in the ARC.
• Ensuring the service delivered meets the business plan and budget whilst taking accountability for financial and contractual performance.
• Leading the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the ARC with input and agreement from key stakeholders and security industry standards with a view to achieving National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Gold accreditation.
• Ensuring the ARC is embedded in emergency and business continuity plans through engagement with key stakeholders.
• Ensuring the accurate recording, inputting and maintenance of comprehensive records of business activity to ensure process compliance.
• Providing situational awareness of security issues across the network to the relevant operational teams, acting as the single point of contact for escalation of issues.
• Able to proactively identify opportunities for the ARC to add value to the business.
• Able to secure and hold/ maintain National Security Vetting at SC level • Providing advice to colleagues on security matters including the installation of CCTV and other security infrastructure.
This will involve site visits across the operational estate as required.
• Supervising and conducting security investigations remotely and in the field as required.
• Supporting the company security manager in their day-to-day duties and deputising for them as required.
• Ability to successfully complete the NPSA's Foundation and post foundation training courses.

Qualifications and Attributes Essential Qualifications and Experience • Experience of managing an accredited ARC, developing operating procedures, mentoring and developing staff, identifying and managing performance issues and developing new 'internal' business that adds value to the ARC.
• Holding an SIA CCTV Operator licence is essential.
• Computer literate, with the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and ARC operating systems.
• You must be able to evidence strong organisational and time management skills.
• Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
• Hold a full driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience • Experience of the Synetics ARC operating system • Experience of operating security 'back office ' systems such as TDSI, ADPRO and Gallagher • Experience / understanding of lone worker issues / systems.
• Experience of managing CCTV request and associated data control issues.
• Experience of managing telematics systems and associated response processes.
