Aircraft De-icer (Seasonal/On-Call) - LTN £12.50 per hour TYPE: Seasonal On-Call | SHIFT HOURS: Vary based on business and operational needs.
Open availability to work any time between 3:00AM and 2:00AM Monday to Sunday.
Hours of work are based on a 7-day operations.

Our employees receive the following, based on eligibility requirements: Competitive wages Flexible schedule Advancement opportunities On the job training Position Overview: The primary role of the aircraft deicer is to remove ice from the aircraft.
The individual in this position inspects the aircraft for ice and for remaining frozen contamination after the deicing has been performed.
He or she sprays the airplane down with the deicing fluid, which is usually made of glycol.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to): Ensure a safe environment during the de/anti-icing operation and make sure all company policies and procedures are being followed correctly; Uphold and follow the duties related to de/anti-icing aircraft according to procedures for both airlines and IDS including inspecting aircraft for frozen contamination; Participate in the pre-planning for the de/anti-ice event (perform checks on equipment, trucks, servicing equipment with fuel or glycol); Ensure proper shutdown of pads, including paperwork and log books; that all maintenance issues have been logged and reported to maintenance and all proper shutdown procedures for the equipment are followed.
Required Skills and Experience: Must be at least 18 years old; Minimum of 5 years of work history required to obtain an airside badge; Must pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; Legally authorized to work in the UK without any Visa sponsorship; Due to the nature of the business, hours of work are to be flexible with additional hours required during certain events; Intermediate computer skills; Maintain and treat all information as confidential; Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English; Must be able to verbally direct in English; Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives; Successful completion of all IDS classroom and OJT de-/anti-icing training; Must be able to speak and hear efficiently; A valid driver's license is required for this position.
Work Environment: Prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to prevalent weather, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes and noise, in or around heavy equipment and moving vehicles.
Physical Demands: Must be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, crawl, climb ladders and work at heights in excess of 15 ft to perform role, repairs, or inspections; Must be able to speak, hear efficiently to supplement other senses in maximizing situational awareness in safety sensitive environments; Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; May be exposed to hazards inherent in airport operations, including noise, vehicles, equipment, and weather, all of which are well-managed with a high level of training, personal protective equipment, and safety procedures.
