Job Purpose: Client operates a hybrid change delivery model, leveraging the best of agile and scrum practices alongside a portfolio of projects that are governed and executed against a more traditional project framework.

The Senior Product Owner role is a member of the Agile Team responsible for defining Product Backlog Items (PBIs) and prioritizing the Team Backlog to streamline the execution of business priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the Features or components for the team.
The Senior Product Owner is likely to have responsibility for more complex work which may span more than one team, involve third parties or be involved in new / lesser known technologies.
This role has significant relationships and responsibilities outside the local team, including working with Product Management, End Users, Business Owners, and other key stakeholders.
Key accountabilities: The key focus areas for a Senior Product Owner will be: The role is focussed on Data Warehousing and BI as the 'Product & Service' under ownership This includes, but not limited to: Supporting the Enterprise Data Warehouse SQL server analysis services Data cubes Regulatory reporting solutions including xml outputs Supporting user self-serve, overrides and parameter uploads The successful applicant will have a passion for data, strong knowledge of relational databases, alongside basic SQL skills.
Desirable some knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional models and analytical tools.
Product Ownership: Ensure that vision and strategy are communicated and understood inside the team to ensure alignment and commitment.
Understand the market, customer, product EOL (end of life), product technology and roadmap.
Build the associated change into the delivery plan.
Identify, define and prioritise enablers (includes negotiation and agreement in team, RTEs and business) Support key stakeholders with the provision of new change to drive value based on data, research and feasibility Participates and contributes to the Product Community of Practice with ideas and ways of working to grow and improve the group product function.
Deputise for the Product Manager, working with senior stakeholders to represent the Train and Product roadmap Planning, Prioritization and Governance: Collaborate with the Product Manager in the creation and advocacy of train priorities and plans.
Actively challenge and influence the Product Roadmap with the Product Manager to ensure we are delivering the right solutions at the right time.
Collaborate with Product Manager and the overall train to the planning cycle input and reporting.
Own and maintain the Product Backlog, which may span across multiple teams, ensuring that it is well refined and prioritised for maximum value delivery in line with the train priorities/ the Product Roadmap.
Delivery: Defines sprint goal with input from appropriate team members.
Capture PBIs / acceptance criteria working with the team to ensure these are fully understood.
This will involve working with SMEs and Change Managers on functional and operational processes.
Leading backlog refinement sessions by defining user stories that representing the needs of the customer/ end user.
Providing guidance and support during development cycle and resolving delivery constraints through timely decision making.
Decompose features into PBIs (Product Backlog Items).
Accept completed work: assess and confirm whether work delivered meets the definition of done.
Recommend hard calls on MVP and scope to get work done and collaborate with the business areas to ensure alignment.
Operates as part of extended Product team collaborating with other Product Owners to ensure dependencies and constraints are managed.
Understand epic level detail and the outcome / value to be delivered.
Achieved by discussion within team and business.
Has a clear understanding of the relationships between initiatives, epics, features and PBI's across their 'Product'.
Collaborate with Change Managers to ensure that business and end user impact is considered in delivery of change.
Support your team and other teams in your train when production release out of hours support is required for releases including post implementation verification and end to end functional testing in production.
Work with the Service Desk and Train to provide Application support to all core applications in your team / train: Assess production issues and queries.
Ensure bugs are logged and prioritised for fixing based on business priority and impact.
Support Problem Management by reviewing problems and working with the team to appropriately prioritise resolution activity into the backlog.
Support vulnerability management by reviewing vulnerability data and appropriately prioritise resolution activity into the backlog.
PO data ownership – management or delegation to team as appropriate.
Essential Role: We are looking for a Senior Product Owner who has Data Warehousing and BI experience" Responsibilities: Understand client existing framework and suggest improvement and Industry standards and best practices.
Desired Skill: Knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional models and analytical tools" Agile ~ Understands Scrum and Agile methods, how agile projects work, their role and what is expected of them.
Has experience of / capability to support multiple teams / backlogs, as well as experience of working successfully with 3rd parties.
Is involved and available to the Agile project team during each and every iteration or sprint and is present for all required events including Business Demand Capturing, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews and Sprint Retrospectives.
Ensures that the product backlog is visible and clear to the Agile project team in Azure DevOps and the product roadmap is also available to the business, so that progress and next priorities are transparent and understood by everyone.
Qualification requirements: Previous experience of working in an Agile environment and delivering with success for the customer and business is required.
