Discover more at www.clarksons.com/port-services Role Summary We have a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Agency Operator to join our team in Aberdeen and carry out ships agency / logistics operations within a port environment.
You will be the central liaison for all parties, including port authorities, ship owners and crews and be responsible for all the ship's requirements whilst in Port.
You will arrange crew, purchase supplies needed by the vessel, and negotiate any work needed with local port suppliers.
You will also help support the safety and security of vessel related operations, and submit any reports or applications needed to comply with port requirements.
Full training and support will be provided for this role.
What you'll be doing Carrying out ship's agency operations duties; for which full training will be given.
Preparing and setting up of vessels in accordance with QA requirements and utilization of in-house agency system.
Communicating with principals, harbour/port authorities, service companies and other associated parties in a timely manner to meet requirements given.
Assisting in the preparation and accurate completion of cargo and vessel documentation, official formalities (HM Customs, Immigration), and company documentation.
Updating the in-house database.
Boarding vessels both moored at sea as well as dockside.
Arranging all husbandry requirement (stores, water, doctors etc.,).
Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
In addition to a standard 37.5 hour working week, there will be a requirement to undertake work outside of usual working hours on a rota basis.
The role will also provide cover for other UK-based offices.
