Description Gordon Murray Automotive Limited currently has an exciting opportunity for an Aftersales Technical Support Engineer to join our Service Engineering and Aftersales Team based at the Gordon Murray Automotive Head Quarters in Surrey.
Reporting to the Aftersales Chief Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for customer support activities including, maintenance and repair, diagnostic repairs, warranty repairs and body repairs on Gordon Murray Automotive vehicles.
This role will include overseas travel to Gordon Murray Automotive approved service centres, service support centres and private customer locations.
In this role you will also be required to support Gordon Murray Automotive track day events at venues worldwide.
Key Responsibilities Perform maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on customer and internal vehicles.
Complete Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and customer handover support.
Ensure that work is planned and completed to deadlines.
Ensure that all supporting administration is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Work well under pressure and respond to short notice changes as required by the company / department.
Support in alternate workstreams, such as development of service repair procedures.
Travel overseas for extended periods of time and at short notice if required.
Provide Technical Support to Gordon Murray Automotive global network of service centres, and customers, as required.
Liaise with customers and articulate work carried out in a professional manner.
Carry out any other appropriate work as required by the company.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Level 3 National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ), or equivalent, in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
Qualified to Senior or Master Technician level.
Previous experience in the Automotive Industry at Dealership or Head Office environment Proven record in customer verbal communication.
Proven record on Diagnostic fault finding.
Refrigerant handling qualification which meets the F-Gas Regulation.
Track day support experience an advantage.
Knowledge of Engineering and Service Bill of Material systems an advantage.
Knowledge of Automotive Vehicle operating systems, Braking, Air Conditioning, Suspension, Engine and Transmissions.
Computer literate – Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Teams.Clean Full UK driving licence Valid Passport with no visa restrictions Well presented, with professional mannerisms befitting of the Gordon Murray organisation.
Adaptable, quick thinking, decisive, showing strong initiative and self-determination.
Ability to work independently and show initiative.
Strong planning, good follows up skills, meticulous in detail.
Demonstrates a methodical approach.
Good team working habits.
Confident with good interpersonal & communication, (especially verbal and written) skills.
Flexible approach to working hours.
