About the Role The ASCT provides advice and support to schools for individual pupils with autism, social and communication needs to enable schools to provide best inclusive practice for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
The team also provides a variety of training to schools (e.g., Understanding and Supporting Autism, Practical Classroom Strategies, Comic Strip Conversations and Developing Self-Regulation etc) The team also provides courses for parents (e.g., Earlybird+ and ASCSURE.
)As an Advisory Teacher for ASCT you will specialise and focus on Social Communication Difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Conditions.
You will use your inclusive practice and teaching skills to improve pupil progress and access to learning.You will act as an ambassador to enhance the quality of inclusive teaching and learning, leading on developing and supporting the continuous improvement of settings and pupil progress.This role will involve building trusting relationships whilst working closely with colleagues and partners across educational settings and within our Specialist Teaching Service, such as leaders, managers, governors, parents, and practitioners.We are looking for someone who has a knowledge and understanding of autism with a passion for inclusive practice in all areas of work.
