As the Advanced Specialist Pharmacist / Nurse for Medication Safety and Medicines Innovation you will be supported to develop with opportunities for career pathways that are novel and challenging.You will be the Trust Medication Safety Officer and in this role will be responsible for encouraging medication incident reporting and learning.
As part of national, regional and local medicines safety networks, you will work collaboratively on medication safety to drive quality improvement within the organisation, across the Dorset Integrated Care System and further afield.This post would be ideal for an ambitious and highly skilled pharmacist or nurse to develop their career and improve medicines safety in a combined Mental Health and Community Services NHS Foundation Trust, whose vision is to be better every day through excellence, compassion and expertise in all we do.
Main duties of the job Main duties of the job To be the Trust Medication Safety Officer To lead on all aspects of medication safety and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that safety is improved To use innovation to reduce patient harm and improve patient outcomes and experience To lead on education and development in medication safety for Trust staff To support clinical teams and departments to improve safety in the use of medicines To lead on the implementation of National, Regional and local patient safety initiatives To maintain the profile of medication safety across the Trust and ensure effective trust-wide communication of medication safety issues To collaborate with other NHS organisations and healthcare providers to disseminate good practice and learn from other experiences Employment in this post requires an Enhanced
