Job summary We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to support and lead a team in the clinical areas of Surgery and Oncology.You will manage your own and support others with a complex caseload in an Inpatient setting.The role involves close working with the MDT as well as Senior Leaders Divisionally.
There will also be close working with senior leadership in Occupational Therapy with the opportunity to deliver the OT strategy and vision.The Occupational Therapy department offers opportunities to take part in a research symposium and opportunities for innovation in an ever changing environment.There are ample leadership development opportunities.
You willsupervise and appraise members of the team and support the development of junior staff.
Main duties of the job You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with highly developed clinical skills in this field of practice.
You will have a lead role in initiating, planning, implementing and leading the service developments in the Surgery and Oncology Occupational Therapy Team on a day-to-day basis.
You will provide occupational therapy to patients working autonomously and without direct supervision.
You will ensure safe and effective delivery of occupational therapy and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary and agency teams and the Professional Lead and Operational Manager in Occupational Therapy.
You will also work closely with the Divisions to reduce length of stay and readmission rates.
