Playing a key role in providingassessments, complex formulation and interventions that are both evidence-basedand tailored to the individuals unique needs and context.Collaborative working is central to this role,as you will be part of a specialist MDT, working closely with other agenciesand across CAMHS pathways.
Strong communication and teamwork skills areessential to building effective relationships and sharing knowledge.Supporting consultation, delivering training,and offering supervision will be part of this role.

Job description Job responsibilities Tobe responsible for the day to day co-ordination and management of occupationaltherapy within the designated clinical area, undertaking a complex,multi-functional role, combining managerial, clinical and professional dutiesand responsibilities.Tohave an identified clinical role for highly complex cases within theirdesignated service.Toprovide advice and support to other therapy staff and members of themulti-disciplinary team within the serviceTofacilitate collaborative working across occupational therapy, maximizing on theskills of the therapists, therapy assistants and other staff.Inthe capacity as a representative of the therapy services to liaise with theconsultants and other medical, therapy and nursing staff, social services,voluntary agencies and the private sector.Thisjob description is an outline of the main duties of the post.

Giving advice and support to othermembers of the multi-disciplinary team.Tobe professionally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work,including management of patients with complex needs.Toplan and prioritise own patient caseload (where appropriate), with highlycomplex needs, using highly specialist occupational therapy skills.
Assess andanalyse occupational performance to identify problem areas in order to plan andcarry out goal orientated intervention programmes with the patients.
Balancingrisk, safety and patient choice in order to promote maximum independence.Useof excellent communication and negotiation skills to establish a therapeuticrelationship in complex and sometimes highly complex cases, taking into accountthe views and wishes of service users, carers and families.
Monitor, evaluateand modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure patient safety,thus maximising effectiveness of occupational therapy intervention.Towork with patients/families to aid their acceptance, understanding andmanagement of their condition/disability.
