Job summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team working at our local Urgent Care Treatment Centre at Hythe Hospital.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, conducting assessments, and developing a treatment plan .
This position requires a strong foundation in anatomy knowledge, medication administration, and a commitment to patient wellbeing.
Patients will be presenting with a range of acute illnesses to be treated on the day.
You will be working with an experienced team of ANPs, Paramedics, GP Registrars and GPs.
Main duties of the job The position is to work at the Urgent Care Centre at Hythe Hospital dealing with acute on the day illnesses.The team are supervised by a GP from one of the Practices, who is able to support and advise during the session.
The GP will also sign off the prescriptions of staff who are non-prescribers.
About us Although employed by the Waterfront and Solent Surgery the successful candidate will be based at Hythe Hospital working in our Urgent Care Centre which is run collaboratively with Red and Green and Forestside surgeries.Waterfront and Solent is a small Practice based in Hythe with 7,800 patients.
We are part of the Waterside Primary Care Network.We are a small patient centred Practice working on the edge of the New Forest.Please see our website Job description Job responsibilities An Advanced Nurse Practitioner is to undertake the following keyresponsibilities in delivering health services:a.Workas part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) b. Assessand triage patients, and as appropriateprovide definitive treatment (including prescribing medicationsfollowing policy, patient group directives, NICE (national)andlocal clinical guidelines and local care pathways) or make necessary referralsto other members of the primary care team or to secondary care.
c. Performinvestigatory procedures as required and undertake the collection ofpathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs and othersamples within their scope of practice and within line of local and nationalguidance.
d. Perform ECGs e. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous health records appropriate to the consultation, ensuring accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient healthcare.
f. Communicate effectively with patients and, where appropriate, family members and their carers, where applicable, complex and sensitive information regarding their physical health needs, results, findings and treatment choices.
g. Knowledge of and ability to work to policies and procedures, including confidentiality, safeguarding, lone working, information governance and health and safety.
h. Ability to organise, plan and prioritise on own initiative, including when under pressure ad meeting deadlines.

Demonstrate personal accountability, emotional resilience and work well under pressure.
j.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships and to promote collaborative practice with all colleagues.
k. Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to registered care professional.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Council Meets the standards for registered ANP working at advanced level Minor illness qualification Meets NMC revalidation requirements Qualification for Advanced Nurse Practice Desirable Qualified Independent Nurse Prescriber on the NMC register.
Qualified triage nurse ALS and PALS Experience Essential Job plan that demonstrates advanced nursing practice and has equity with peers working at this level.
