Are you an Advanced Practitioner seeking an OOH Urgent Care role based in the Isle of Skye?
Advanced Nurse/Paramedic Practitioner Band 7 – Unscheduled Care, Isle of Skye This post is suitable for a Qualified Advanced Nurse/Paramedic Practitioner ideally holding: A MSc level qualification in Advanced Practice Knowledge, Skills and Experience of working within Primary Care OOHs or Emergency Care The capability to see, treat and discharge undifferentiated presentations of illness and injury across the life span as a lone practitioner with access to remote support and supervision where needed The Role The Advanced Practitioner provides unscheduled care across the Isle of Skye, primarily focused on out of hours Primary Care during evening and weekends in North Skye.
The role includes rotation to the Broadford Hospital A&E as service pressures allow.
The Advanced Practitioners will work autonomously across Primary, Community and Acute Services during the in and out of hours period, covering seven days including public holidays.
They will be responsible for the clinical decision making, assessment and treatment of patients across the Primary, Community and Acute care settings.
The Advanced Practitioner will work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT)/medical staff including the OOH Hub and Acute Services.
Communicate when required to about any patient they have seen overnight/ at weekends who needs to be followed up by the GP / Acute Services during normal working hours.
The Advanced Practitioner provides assessment, clinical care and management of both stable and acutely unwell patient and his/her family, making complex, autonomous decisions using advanced skills and knowledge, having overall responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery of advanced care.
Medical telehealth/telephone support will be available when required from an identified source.
The Advanced Practitioner will be supported to undertake clinical training such as ALS, ePILs, BASICs as part of 3.7hours/week (pro-rata) SPA time.
Shift Patterns 12 hour shifts across 7 days including nights, weekends and Public Holidays The successful candidate You will be a Registered and experienced healthcare professional with a proven record of continuing professional development.
Ideally in possession of MSc level qualifications in Advanced Practice.
You will be a team player, self-aware and ready to work amongst the community and the multidisciplinary team that cares for it.

This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.
This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.
However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
