Job summary Diabetes & Nutrition Services (DANS) consist of the Diabetes, Nutrition and Dietetic services lead on best practice patient centred care in the management of each of these specialist areas.
Working closely together they are able to provide collaborative care for patients within the clinical pathways and support health care professionals within the region.
Our diabetes services provide education, information and support on diabetes and nutrition to people registered with a GP in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire and their carers.
Our structured education is for people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes across the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire aim is to provide information and guidance to enable people to self-manage their condition and live the life they want to lead.
Referrals are assessed by our specialist team and support and advice is offered remotely or as a face-to-face assessment or a domiciliary visit Core working hours of the service are from 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).
The service runs across the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) geography of Sirona and has a variety of clinics and bases.
The services has three bases within BNSSG, with the main bases being at John Milton Clinic, Henbury, Bristol and Castlewood in Clevedon, North Somerset.
Main duties of the job This role will work within an administrative team to provide a comprehensive and flexible administrative service to the team of Diabetes Specialist Nurses and Dietitians working within the Diabetes & Nutrition Service.
The post holder will work collaboratively and flexibly with the team to provide a seamless administrative service ensuring all key functions of the services are covered each day.
The post holder works well within the team supporting the clinicians, patients and other health care professionals who contact the service.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential oNVQ 3 in administration, or equivalent demonstrable experience oNumeracy and Literacy level 2 qualification or equivalent demonstrable skills.
Skills and Abilities Essential oKnowledge of how to handle information confidentially and securely oAdministration skills relevant to the role.
oEffective interpersonal and written communication skills.
oAble to work well in a team environment but also acts on own initiative.
oA range of administrative processes (typing, minute taking, photocopying, scanning, filing, mail management, greeting visitors).
oRange of IT skills including electronic communication, text processing, spread sheets and data bases Other requirements Essential oAbility to travel efficiently to other work bases eg by car or other appropriate means, as reasonably requested.
