Administrative Officers (Ref: 201189)Nursing and Systems Improvement Directorate & Medical and Safety Directorate£29,116 - £31,670 (Band 4)Full time (37 hours per week) PermanentEdinburgh or Glasgow – hybrid working will apply for the foreseeable futureA fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Nursing and Systems Improvement (NSI) and the Medical and Safety (M&S) directorates as an Administrative Officer.
We have core roles within our NMAHP and NSI Operations Unit, Primary Care Portfolio and Perinatal, Paediatric and Acute Care Portfolio.
These roles will be providing essential operational and programme support within Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS).
Candidates must be highly organised, effective and confident communicators who work well using their own initiative and as part of a team.
They need to be able to utilise existing and emerging technologies to support efficient and effective ways of working, directly supporting Associate Directors and their teams to meet outcomes.
Candidates must be able to work effectively under pressure, be adaptable, flexible and be comfortable working with people, including senior managers, senior-level stakeholders and members of the public.
Duties may include organising meetings and events, diary management, minute taking, arranging travel and accommodation, processing invoices and liaising with NHS, Scottish Government, health and social care professionals and other colleagues from across Scotland.
NMAHP delivers a number of hosted corporate programmes covering Complaints Management, Public Protection, Trauma Informed Practice and Children & Young People agendas, Professional Governance (professional registrations/revalidations, clinical supervision, practice placements and related forums and oversight groups) and Clinical & Care Governance.NSI Operations provides a comprehensive business operations function to the directorate, working closely with the senior management team across areas of business planning and governance arrangements, ensuring effective structures, processes and culture are in place.
Undertaking internal development and improvement programmes in support of this.
We work closely with other directorates and with HIS corporate functions in delivery of this work.The Primary Care Improvement Portfolio supports primary care to deliver sustainable improvements to healthcare in Scotland.
Our current Primary Care Phased Investment Programme (PCPIP) supports Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSCPs) to implement the .

The programmes of work include part of the Scottish Patient Safety Programme, a national quality improvement programme aiming to improve the safety and reliability of care and reduce harm.
The SPSP Paediatric and Perinatal programme engages with teams involved in delivering maternity, neonatal, and paediatric care across NHS boards to support improved outcomes for women, babies, children and families within Scotland.
