Job summary Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team.
Duties can include, but are not limited to, supporting the administration and receptionist teams with patient registration, booking appointments, processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner and in accordance with current policies, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service (ERS).
Main duties of the job Responsibilities Process incoming and outgoing mail File and store records as required Photocopy documentation as required Process changes to patient registration, deduction of record and new patient registration Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requests appropriately Welcome patients and visitors to the organisation, directing requests appropriately Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently Manage all enquires in an effective manner Maintain an accurate referrals database Process calling letters as requested Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary Process referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS) Process requests for information SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms Read code data on EMIS Web Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately Manage all administrative queries as necessary Process medical records requests as per GDPR guidelines Manage external post process Carry out system searches as requested Always maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested About us We are a friendly dynamic GP practice in Ashton-under-Lyne, serving around 17500 patients.
