Job summary Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust's is an Award-winning service, and we are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, dedicated individuals who are passionate about improving the outcomes for children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs.
We are excited to be looking for a motivated and experienced clinician with specific ADHD experience to support the development of this diagnostic pathway.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering specialise clinical care to their own caseload and service within their speciality area.
This role will predominantly involve assessing children and young people for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in line with NICE guidance.
You will have the opportunity to support the clinical team lead to develop the ADHD assessment pathway within the team, share specialist clinical knowledge, provide clinical supervision to peers, and develop strong links with our ADHD intervention pathway.
Whilst this role mainly focuses on ADHD assessment, this position sits within the wider Children's Neurodevelopmental Team and knowledge and expertise of autism and ability to complete autism assessments will also be required.
Please note that this role is a 6-7 development post.
The post holder will work to professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance at all times ensuring that their practice is grounded in evidence based theoretical and practical knowledge.

Main duties of the job The main duties of this role are - To demonstrate clinical skills in ADHD assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
To liaise closely with other members of the MDT to ensure a detailed and complete diagnostic assessment is completed in line with NICE guidance.
Be responsible for ensuring clinical outcome data is appropriately collated and routinely recorded to the Trust and professional clinical regulatory body standards To employ excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to promote multi-disciplinary and interagency liaison and collaborative practice to broad range of audiences, including other professionals and external assessment providers.

Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge Essential Registered with appropriate clinical professional body: Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing, Speech and Language Therapy or Psychology (Educational, Counselling, Clinical or Forensic) and be registered with the relevant statutory body (NMC, HCPC, ACP, BABCP, UKCP, SWE, SCW, SSSC or NISCC or BACP) Educated to degree level or equivalent as required for registration with professional body.
Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation and guidance relevant to working with Children.
Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit Desirable Evidenced commitment to CPD and advancement of knowledge in Neurodiversity Advanced clinical reasoning skills and understanding of the varied presentations of ADHD Advanced understanding of relevant clinical practice, in particular ADHD diagnostics, standards and protocols Post-graduate ADHD/ASD diagnostic training , Conners, SNAP, ADI-R, ADOS, DISCO Experience Essential Evidence of suitable post-registration professional practice, in hospital or other healthcare setting Demonstrable experience of working with neurodiversity Desirable Evidence of leadership skills managing people, service development Demonstrable track record of assessing ASD or ADHD using recommended tools Skills and Competencies Essential Effective inter-personal skills and experience in supervising and mentoring and teaching Able to demonstrate good communication skills across a range of mediums Able to communicate effectively and sensitively with children and their carers Desirable Excellent organisation and time management skills
