You will be required to work collaboratively in a safe, caring and respectful way.To find out more about NHS Ayrshire and Arran please visit our website - PositionAn opportunity has arisen for a Addiction Support Worker at Caley Court Resource Centre.What you will do:You will support the wider NADARS Health and Social Care team including prescribing staff to deliver a safe and effective treatment and care service for complex drug and alcohol dependant clients across North Ayrshire.
You will ensure that clients are offered an increased range of supports to promote attendance at regular reviews with their prescriber.
In addition, they will offer practical support to senior staff within the team to safely deliver recovery interventions, Injecting Equipment Provision (IEP) service and work in conjunction with partner agencies and peer workers.
You will also be required to offer addiction related support, advice and information to clients, family and carers and partner agencies as part of the NADARS duty system.For further information on the role please click the link below to view the job descriptionKnowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:A professional qualification at Higher National Certificate level, or equivalent experience, in a relevant area is essential e.g.
health, social care or drug and alcohol studies.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential.
Excellent understanding of drug/alcohol use and associated issues is essential.
Information Technology skills is essential.
Experience of working in an addiction related environment is desirable.
Experience of working in a community setting is desirable.
Ability to deliver presentations and training is desirable.
