Your Role As Active Travel Network Manager, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of active travel in Greater Manchester.
You will be the Technical Lead for the Greater Manchester Active Travel Programme, and you will be leading our work to plan and deliver the commitment of the Greater Manchester Active Travel Commissioner, Dame Sarah Storey, to an active travel network which connects all communities in Greater Manchester by 2040.
We've already delivered around 120km of transformational active travel infrastructure in the last five years, but we need to step that up to the next level.
In this role, you will take responsibility for the development of Greater Manchester's active travel infrastructure pipeline and ensure that infrastructure across Greater Manchester is delivered to our exacting Bee Network design standards.
You will work closely in partnership with the ten constituent local highway authorities to develop and deliver the infrastructure pipeline, as well as liaising closely with internal colleagues in our Transport Strategy, Highways, Projects and Bus teams to ensure an integrated, organisation-wide approach to network development.
Reporting to, and working closely with, the Network Director, you'll take the lead in developing future plans for active travel infrastructure in partnership with Greater Manchester district highway authorities and other partner organisations.
You'll then support scheme promoters to secure funding for, and ultimately deliver, active travel infrastructure projects, and take the lead in TfGM's technical assurance of design standards.

In addition, you'll have the ability to provide technical advice on active travel infrastructure to design teams and compile clear and concise technical and non-technical reports for a range of audiences.
What we can offer you This is a permanent role and comes with a salary of £57,770- £65,024 per annum depending on skills and experience.
