Role: Sector Project Manager

About the Role Due to business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Sector Project Manager to lead our Water/Wastewater Team. This role involves delivering projects for our two major water customers in the South. You will be part of our leadership team, contributing to the strategic growth of the business unit.
Main Responsibilities Line management for the Engineers and Project Managers within the team covering support and welfare, appraisals, reviews, and disciplinary matters. Take the lead in ensuring your team continues to develop their skills in line with business goals. Direct involvement in the recruitment of new Engineers and Project Managers. Responsible for promoting a health, safety, and environmental conscious culture, and driving SHEQ system and standards improvements for the sector as well as ensuring policies and procedures are always adhered to by the team. Manage team absences to ensure constant and sufficient cover and assist with providing cover for the Business Unit Manager or other sector Managers when required. Coordination of resource within the team to maintain the required level of support for the Project Managers, and resolution of issues of work priority. Work as part of the BU Leadership Team to ensure continued development and smooth operation of the BU. Assist the BU Manager with the yearly budget, shared strategic plan, and success planning. Prepare and present project reviews and evaluations (exchange value analysis) to Actemium management. Work alongside other Project Managers to develop existing client relationships and identify future requirements on site(s). Personally visit customer site(s) as and when required. Specialism Perform the role of lead advisor to the business for the sector, review and manage internal standards and procedures, along with monitoring national and international standards to ensure business standards and procedures remain current. Responsible for developing the customer base within the water/wastewater sector, while maintaining our existing customer and supplier accounts. Contribute to all aspects of sales activity for the sector, covering order bank management, customer management and future system development, surveying, and quoting. Responsible for project delivery within the sector, ensuring all projects follow the full project lifecycle, are fully tested, delivered on time, to budget and agreed specification/standards, and reviewed for continuous improvement. Demonstrate commercial awareness in the water/wastewater sector, by examining, negotiating, and overseeing contracts with both customers and subcontractors. The Person High levels of experience in system integration. High level of understanding of the full project life cycle, with demonstrable experience. Demonstrate commercial experience gained in the water/wastewater sector. You must have awareness of delivering PLC/SCADA projects in the water/wastewater sector. Understanding of when to utilise the support of colleagues and suppliers to support quoting activities. You must be proficient in subcontract management. Demonstrated ability in the leadership of teams. Good communication and interpersonal skills with willingness to take on new skills and knowledge and further professional qualifications if required. Excellent time management skills and be able to demonstrate a structured and methodical approach to workload. Right first-time approach to all aspects of work. You are a highly self-motivated, enthusiastic individual with good team leadership skills, with a good aptitude to learn from and influence others, and a willingness to undertake further professional development & training. Good aptitude to learn from and influence others with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels is essential. Ability to balance own objectives with those of the Business Unit's and other employees. You need to have excellent IT skills, have experience in using project planning tools, and be competent using Microsoft Office packages. You must be eligible to work in the UK and have a full UK driving license.
