Acoustics Consultant - Associate/Technical Director

Wardell Armstrong's acoustics team forms a constituent part of the acoustics and air quality service area based in our Glasgow, Newcastle upon Tyne, Bolton, Cardiff, Stoke and Leeds offices. Our acousticians work on a wide range of projects throughout the UK and abroad.
The Opportunity The successful candidate will provide a leading role to the acoustics team in Glasgow and be responsible for the growth and development of team and projects in the Scottish region. You will be involved in the assessment of noise and vibration for various types of projects including building acoustics, residential, infrastructure, commercial and mixed-use developments, health care, education, minerals, waste and renewable energy.
You will undertake noise monitoring, noise modelling and assessment works. You will be involved from the initial conception of a development scheme to the completion of the project. The Firm will support your own development and progression within the business.
You Preferably the successful applicant will have experience in environmental acoustics with an emphasis on noise and vibration monitoring and assessment procedures and be familiar with the application of all relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and relevant guidance. It is essential that you are educated to degree level in a relevant degree such as Acoustic Engineering or equivalent, such as the Institute of Acoustics Diploma, and ideally be a non-corporate Member of the Institute of Acoustics.
You will have good organisational, numerical and report writing skills with experience of managing your own workload, and supporting junior members of the team as well as strong business development skills and experience.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential as you will be expected to travel to sites throughout the UK as and when required.
