Our client is seeking a qualified or QBE accountant who is forward thinking and enthusiastic to lead and manage a small team.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Directors and be responsible for maintaining the financial processes, preparing year-end accounts, and managing payroll.
Responsibilities of an Accounts Manager: Oversee the daily operations of the accounts department.
Prepare multi sets of year-end accounts to trial balance.
Maintain personal account records and assist with self-Assessment submissions.
Handle loans, mortgage schedules, and manage multiple bank accounts.
Sales and purchase ledger checks, bank statement uploads, and reconciliation.
Process payroll for salaried, hourly, and weekly staff, including pension and HMRC submissions.
Ensure timely VAT returns, manage payment runs, and handle credit card reconciliations.
Manage pension enrolments, PAYE submissions, and salary payments.
Maintain asset and liability schedules and manage payroll software.
Requirements to be successful as an Accounts Manager: Qualified or QBE Accountant with experience of managing a small team.
This role would also be suitable for someone who is looking to move out of practice.
Strong financial management experience with proficiency in Xero or similar accounting software.
Proven experience in payroll management, including pensions and HMRC submissions.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills to liaise with staff and external stakeholders and committed to making a positive contribution to the college.
