8A Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist (Two Part Time Roles )

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and innovative Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologists with experience of, and a keen interest in mental health, to work within Guildford Community Mental Health Recovery Services based in South-West Surrey.

We have two part-time Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist posts available: 1 x 22.5 hrs and 1 x 28hrs.

The post holder would be working with adults who experience severe and enduring mental health difficulties. In particular, people with complex trauma, personality disorder and psychosis. You would be working with friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary teams who greatly value the skills and expertise of our Clinical and Counselling Psychologists.

Knowledge of working with high risk, complex mental health difficulties and experience in group therapy work and project work would be essential. Training and experience in an evidence-based trauma therapy and CBT is essential. Training and experience in third-wave CBT models such as ACT, DBT, CFT would be desirable.

This is an exciting time to join SABP as we are at the forefront of developing services and are working closely with NHS England to develop and test out new models of care. We have received additional funding to transform our community and crisis services and you will be joining us at an interesting and exciting time in NHS Mental Health Services.

Main duties of the job Key Responsibilities To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and To maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Trust Policies and Procedures. To act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005). To be aware of and implement Safeguarding Adult and Child Protection Policies, Procedures and legislation. To carry out comprehensive psychological and cognitive assessments and formulation, plan implement and evaluate delivery of psychology interventions and consultations to support people with specific and complex needs. To actively involve people in developing and agreeing their own care plan, to act as an advocate and ensure that there is proper regard for their dignity, choice, self-esteem, racial, cultural, sexual and religious needs and preferences To work creatively to adapt verbal and written communication to meet the needs of people who use our services To undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk management plans for people with complex needs.
