Job Purpose RES currently provides High Voltage Operations and Maintenance (HV O&M) Services to renewable energy assets in the UK & Ireland.
Due to increased demand from our clients, we are seeking an HV Senior Authorised Person (400kV) to grow and improve this service.RES provides OFTO O&M to a number of sites around the UK where we are required to provide full Safety from the System services and either delivery or delivery management of a full O&M serviceKey AccountabilitiesThe responsibilities of the HV SAP's include: Always adherence to health and safety requirements and help to maintain and improve safety standardsAchieve and maintain Senior Authorised Person status at increasing voltages.Become fully conversant and make sure that all works are undertaken in accordance with the RES Electrical & Mechanical Safety Rules and Safety Rule Instructions, this will include but is not limited to:Preparing, issuing and cancelling safety documentsCarrying out switching, isolation and earthing dutiesActing as Control EngineerPreparing switching schedulesManaging the interface between system boundaries with site and DNO/NGT as requiredProducing and reviewing method statements and risk assessmentsProducing maintenance plans for HV equipmentMaintaining the asset registerManagement and/or delivery of planned and unplanned maintenance activities on electrical equipmentProducing final reportsUndertaking troubleshooting and fault-finding on RES controlled plant/equipment.Carrying out inductions for sub-contractors and deliver Competent Person Training.Keeping in close communication with HV Control and Project Lead SAPLiaising with external stakeholders such as DNO/NGT and asset ownerReacting to emergencies, site outages and changing circumstancesOther duties commensurate with the roleKnowledgeEssential:HV Safe Systems of WorkKnowledge of the key legislation underpinning UK high voltage electrical asset operation and maintenanceDetailed knowledge of UK industry HV electrical safety rulesDetailed knowledge of HV equipmentHV maintenance practices including HSG230Desirable:Knowledge of offshore workingSkillsEssential:Strong approach to safe working practicesAble to operate and maintain various types of HV plant/equipment.Excellent communication skillsGood people skillsAbility to coordinate multiple activities whilst ensuring safety and quality are maintainedAbility to identify problems, conduct analysis and develop solutionsDesirable:Able to use equipment for testing and fault finding on HV plant/equipmentExperienceEssential:SAP Experience @ 400kVOperation and maintenance of HV EquipmentExperience in fault finding on HV plant and equipment.Commissioning HV plant and equipment.Desirable:Basic HV protection testing400kV SAPQualificationsEssential:Full UK driving licencePreviously held SAP authorisation under high voltage electrical safety rules at 400KVIOSH Managing Safely or CITB SMSTS or equivalentDesirable:Electrical Engineering HNC or equivalent industry experience
