3Rd-Line Engineer

Details of the offer

For most 2nd Line Engineers, the prospect of progression often follows a natural pathway – 3rd Line Engineer.

But what really changes?
You're still reliant on your first and second line to try and resolve issues, it's largely only the complexity of the issue that changes, and yes, this complexity does provide an additional level of variety.

But what about the next step in your career?
What about the strategic experience you need for management?
What about the creativity and innovation that drives technology forward?

What if I told you there was a role at a company that gives you all of this and more, would you be interested?
Of course you would.

They're a small but specialist IT Service Provider, so it's a chance to really make a name for yourself.
They're growing too and they want you to grow with them, so they'll fund training and development along with study support.

The Tech?
They work with over 250 clients across multiple sectors, and every client has their own unique requirements, so you'll not only be able to work with the latest in what you know, you'll also have the opportunity to work with the new stuff.

You'll be able to utilise your 2-3 years experience in a second or third-line role to it's full potential, plus you'll have a chance to train the lesser experienced Engineers, so you can focus on the less reactive stuff.

And whilst training and development is an important part of their culture, they'll expect you to be able to bring some skills to the table also, for example:
Technical Cloud Delivery (ideally Azure, but any exposure to AWS a plus) Virtual Server Administration (they work with VMWare or Hyper-V) Working knowledge of TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP Experience in LAN / WAN Technologies, such as Switches, Routers and Firewalls.
They're great believers in a healthy work-life balance, but they also have a large client base to maintain, so you'll be working onsite mainly, whether this be at their offices in Salford or visiting one of the national clients.
For this reason, you're more than welcome to request any flexibility in working hours and they don't mind the odd day from home.

Like dogs?
They're great aren't they, but they can get up to mischief when you're not at home so they're really open to dogs in the office.
It's great for team morale too.

Don't worry if it's not the prettiest, it's the detail that counts.
