Reference: CCC00333Description: Join one of the largest council house builders in the countryThe Role:You will be joining the high performing Development team in the Economy and Place Group, operating in a focused geographical area within Cambridge.Cambridge City council are 50% of a joint venture with Hill Partnerships Limited which is known as the Cambridge Investment Partnership (CIP).
CIP have delivered over 1,000 new homes over the last seven years with high customer satisfaction rates, excellent energy efficiency and strong links with supply chain partners.The Development team leads the council's interest in CIP.
The current business plan incorporates an ambitious target to develop 2,400 homes to start on site within the next 5 years to meet the Council's Sustainable Housing Design Guide.
The team are also responsible for the Civic Quarter regeneration and developing innovative plans for a district heat network.The city council's development team are looking for an individual with a track record in project managing new build development schemes and reviewing capital assets as part of the Council strategic asset management plan.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to play a key role in delivering the development programme.The role is varied however some key responsibilities include:Taking responsibility for project management on several identified and approved schemes from pre-contract through to construction phase and beyond dealing with the Hill and Council teams.Will be involved in residential, and hybrid residential-commercial, commercial and community building development schemes.Ensure scheme cost, quality and programme are monitored and maintained using existing systems and supported by employers' agents and clerks of works.Support the council's new approach to strategic asset management, identifying a pipeline of assets that are suitable for investment and regeneration.Provide accurate and informative presentations and reports for council colleagues, councillors and other stakeholders as required.Support the Hill pre-construction and technical teams undertaking due diligence on both council owned land and new acquisitions.Be involved in the drafting of relevant frameworks, contracts and other documentation required to formalise development schemes as they progress through the project lifecycle.Attend design, project and site meetings and be the council lead on schemes for other service areas.The council encourage and support employees to progress professional qualifications relevant to their work including Associate membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.About You:Experience in development, surveying or project managementPassionate about housing development and delivering high quality sustainable buildings for our residentsProfessional and flexible approachCommitted to a developing relationships with internal and external stakeholdersWhat we can offer:Family friendly policiesAgile and Flexible workingGenerous annual leave allowance 25 days' per annum, rising to 30 days' after five years continuous service; plus 8 days public holidays (pro rata for part time).Annual leave purchasing schemeAccess to the highly valued Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)A variety of learning and development opportunities via a range of sources and methodsConfidential advice and support via the Employee Assistance ProgrammeHealth and well-being programmeSubsidy for public transportStaff reward and recognition frameworkRole:Project Manager - DevelopmentHours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.Working Pattern: Typically, 8-4/9-5 with some limited evening workContract: PermanentSalary: £45,718 - £50,788 per annum (City Pay Band 7)Location:Cambridge City Council work in an agile manner but you will be required to work from our central Cambridge office, or on site, two days a week.
