Job summary The interview date for this role will be Monday 3rd February 2025This post is 30 hours a week permanent.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and motivated Band6 Physiotherapist to join the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team at BarnsleyHospital NHS Foundation Trust.Working in a small and friendly team the post holder will provide aspecialist physiotherapy for the treatment of Musculoskeletal and Rheumatologyconditions at Barnsley Hospital.Carrying out specialistassessments, treatments, and providing expert advice for patients with complexconditions.
As an acute trust, we manage referrals from A&E, the fractureclinic, and orthopaedic teams, treating a diverse range of acute andpost-operative patients from both our trauma and elective units.
Main duties of the job To perform specialist physiotherapeutic assessmentof patients with diverse presentation/multiple pathology and complex physicaland psychological conditions.To display specialist problem solving skills torecognise and identify patients requiring further investigation, referringappropriately to other medical services within and outside the physiotherapyremit.
To be aware of and screen for serious pathologies with appropriatemanagement.To hold responsibility for own caseload and to beresponsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type,working without direct supervision.
Access to advice and support is availablefrom our Senior physiotherapists, as required, clinical work is not routinelyevaluated.To formulate and deliver individual physiotherapytreatment programmes based on a sound knowledge of evidence based practice andtreatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge oftreatment techniques ( manual physiotherapy, patient education, exerciseclasses, electrotherapy techniques and other alternative options).To be an active member of therespiratory and orthopaedic on-call Rota.To be responsible for the clinical education ofundergraduate student physiotherapists to graduate level on physiotherapeuticskills and knowledge within core areas, whilst maintaining close communicationlinks with universities.

Desirable Experience of audit/research Experience in the NHS in the UK as a qualified physiotherapist.
Member of specialist interest group MCSP Experience of supervision of assistants Knowledge and Awareness Essential Awareness of NHS issues.
Awareness of confidentiality issues.
Qualifications Essential Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy Current HCPC Registration Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and training in relevant area.
