Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.
Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded.
Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based in Royal Infirmary of EdinburghThis a replacement post created following retirement.
A contribution to the renal pathology or molecular pathology teams would be welcomed.
However contribution to the wider Lothian Service could be discussed, depending on the interests of the appointee and the requirements of the service.
NHS Lothian Pathology and the University of Edinburgh collaborate on a portfolio of research activities, and a range of opportunities would be available to the successful applicant.
The potential to take a leading role in service delivery would be available to a suitably experienced candidate.
