Assistant PsychologistClinical Psychology (Learning Disabilities Service)Royal Edinburgh Hospital Please note: Part-time the salary will be pro-rata.24.05 hours per week (0.65 WTE), Fixed term for 12 monthsNHS Lothian has a vacancy in the Learning Disabilities Service for an Assistant Psychologist post.The Learning Disabilities Psychology Service provides comprehensive psychological assessment and therapies to adults with learning disabilities in the City of Edinburgh, East, Mid and West Lothian.
There may be a requirement to work flexibly across Lothian to meet service demands.As an assistant psychologist you will play a key role in the team by supporting qualified psychologists to provide a service to people with learning disabilities in Lothian.
This may require working in hospitals, clients' homes, residential services, or day centres.
A large part of your clinical work will entail administering neuropsychological tests as part of our assessment to ascertain whether patients have a learning disability, and as part of our dementia pathway.
There will also be opportunities to deliver structured and manualised psychological assessments and interventions.
You will work under close supervision of the qualified psychologist, and will support them with other key tasks such as collating information for screening assessments and maintaining databases used in our clinical pathwaysKey Requirements:See job description.
You will be a psychology graduate with a minimum of a 2:1 honours degree conferring eligibility for graduate registration with the British Psychological Society.
