NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.What we'll need you to bringTo have a post-graduate Doctoral Level (or equivalent) degree in Clinical or Counselling or Health Psychology and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Registered Clinical or Registered Counselling or Registered Health Psychologist.To have significant experience in working with individuals, their family or carers, who experience complex and enduring mental health difficultiesTo have significant experience in supporting, teaching and consultation with other mental health professionals working within psychological settingsTo have proven ability to undertake formative and summative clinical assessments, and prepare reports demonstrating interpretation of findings Have completed recognised formal training in supervision of applied psychologistsHave completed further courses of additional learning relevant to the clinical skills demanded by the post as identified in the Role Profile.To have knowledge of relevant legislation and current clinical standards/guidelines, and knowledge of relevant local, and national policies, guidelines, and standards.Have demonstrated the ability to work co-operatively as a member of a multi-professional/multi-agency service and within wider systems.
This includes skills of consultation, liaison and negotiation.Have demonstrated experience of leading on projects and/or supporting senior psychologists in managing their remit within the Service.It would be great if you also haveTraining in specific forensic risk assessment tools, personality assessment and/or therapies relevant to the contextSignificant experience of working with prisoners, forensic or other complex populationsEvidence of supervising Doctoral and/or Masters level psychology traineesSpecialist knowledge of neuropsychological function as well as brain anatomy and functionSpecialist knowledge of forensic mental healthAbility to work in a sensitive manner with respect to diversity, gender, ethnic, cultural and philosophical issues with a wide range of individuals and organisationsBe aware of limits of one's competence and expertiseContract typeFixed Term or Secondment for 12 monthsPart Time25.9 hoursPlease note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.Please note this is a fixed term post for 12 months.
Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment.
The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
