As part of the Technology Industrial Placement, you'll develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to inform your career choices and contribute to the development and improvement of Nationwide's processes, products and services in your department.
Our 12-month placement gives you a valuable first look at what it's like to work here, with real responsibility and accountability.
We're looking for undergraduates to join our Technology Industrial Placement where you'll be aligned to one of our key technical areas.
We are offering placements within Security & Resilience and Data & Analytics .
We'll need you to build rewarding relationships across the organisation and externally to understand customer needs, resolve problems and support the delivery of the Society blueprint.
You'll receive upfront training with a focus on specific core tech skills and individual projects.
You will also receive soft skills training to ensure you develop a rounded skillset.
You will receive an individual learning pathway when you join your teams to ensure you are able to continuously develop your skills.
You'll also attend development workshops and complete a project with other Industrial Placements aligned to our Social Impact strategy.
We view our Technology Industrial Placement as a potential feed into our Technology Development Programme so if you want further development and a career after university this is a good place to start.
Following successful completion of your placement, and with the right drive and attitude, there is the opportunity to progress into Accelerator roles.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, based at our Swindon office .

What you'll be doing During your IT Industrial Placement, you'll be aligned to one of our key technical areas.
We're investing more than ever in the future pipeline of engineers, so we can keep Nationwide at the forefront of innovative leading-edge technology.
You'll be asked to select the job role which interests you most from the below when you apply.
You could choose from Security & Resilience where you'll be at the forefront of safeguarding our customers' interests by ensuring the security of our customers' funds and data, helping us to bolster product and service security.
Or Data & Analytics where using technologies such as MS SQL, Teradata, MS Azure and SAAS you'll help us transform data into valuable insight, conduct data modelling as well as work with AI technologies all to enrich our customers' experience.
You'll gain access to a bespoke 12-month project aligned to our Social Impact strategy to develop core business skills, providing opportunities to learn new skills and apply them in a different context to your day job.
You'll build a community and work alongside a range of diverse like-minded Industrial Placements from across the organisation.

You'll thrive in this Industrial Placement if you have: Studied for a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) A keen interest in computer science, cyber and/or information systems Drive to learn and improve and are looking for a challenge A positive, tenacious and solution focused mindset Have the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and have the resilience to adapt to change Entry requirements You must be studying toward an undergraduate degree in any discipline.
